Police found Saraporn, 49, from Khon Kaen dead from a stab wound to the left side of the chest. Witthaya, her 42 year old husband from Sa Kaeo, had been stabbed multiple times but was rushed to hospital still alive. An 8 inch knife was recovered. The assailant was 41 year old Bunma, a construction worker from Mahasarakham. He said he had gone to see the couple who had hired him for two days work at 500 baht a day but had not paid him. He said that they refused to pay him and hit him first making him furious. He then used a knife he had brought with him. Police charged him with murder.
