webfact
Picture: INN BMA officials led by Khajit Chatchawanich and police checked on areas of Wang Thong Lan in the Thai capital Bangkok to make sure that the Covid-19 rules were being followed. Being checked were places known in Thai as "sathan borikan" - a euphemism that generally indicates places where prostitution occurs. Also checked were pubs and bars that along with the "sathan borikan" have applied to open as restaurants so they can serve alcohol. Officials were checking they had the accreditation and were shut on time. Picture: INN Alcohol can only be served to 9 pm though food can be served until 11 pm. INN reported that fines in place are 6,000, 12,000 and 20,000 baht with closure orders if establishments continue to disobey the rules.
