Farang Lars
Hi there, in August planning to relocate permanently to Thailand. At that time will be 45 and jobless. How would you go about the next 5 year visa wise. When 50 can get the retirement visa. Before that what shall I do? My wife turning 50 in about a year, (non-Thai), can I lift on her retirement visa? Our wish is to acclimatize somewhere first for 3 months, open bank account, get driving license and buy a car. Than permanently move to perhaps another city for a few years. Looking forward hearing your advise. Many thanks, Lars

scubascuba3
For about 5 years i used an METV, check if they are available now, I left every 60 days on a border run to Cambodia or several months out of country. If you see an agent when you arrive they will be able to sort an visa\extension out for you both, won't be cheap, at a guess 40k each, once 50 it's a lot easier

Popular Post bbko
When your non Thai wife turns 50 she applies for a non-O visa + extension based on being over 50 and you piggy back on her visa extension.

Really? Does that apply to all family members of a retiree?
