It will happen no doubt. And society will become softer, more effete, and more neurotic as a result.

Discipline is necessary for a functional society. We all have to rein our emotions in in some way. Self-indulgence is the path to weakness, and then those countries that have stayed strong - Russia and China in particular - will have the advantage. Never forget that it's a dangerously competitive world.

Ridiculous. Why would homosexual marriage make society "softer, more effete and more neurotic."? As for discipline, in societies that didn't suffer from these prejudices, homosexual relations were believed to make soldiers braver.

"The Sacred Band of Thebes (Ancient Greek: Ἱερὸς Λόχος, Hieròs Lókhos) was a troop of select soldiers, consisting of 150 pairs of male lovers which formed the elite force of the Theban army in the 4th century BC, ending Spartan domination. Its predominance began with its crucial role in the Battle of Leuctra in 371 BC."

Japanese Samurai could be openly homosexual with no stigma attached

"Shudo relationships were formalized and typically between an older male and a younger boy. The older partner would teach the younger (wakashu) martial arts, warrior etiquette and the samurai code of honor. This relationship was considered mutually beneficial, and both partners were expected to be loyal to each other and assist them in their duties."
