I registered the birth of my son at the Embassy in Bangkok some fourteen years ago.will the Embassy have forwarded this information to the appropriate place in the UK? If not could you please  tell me what address I should write to in the UK to pass on this information. I have sought this address online without success.

You do not need to do this, but if you choose to do so it will cost £150+

You will not receive a UK birth certificate. Instead you will receive a Consular Birth Registration. The Consular Birth Registration cannot be used to apply for a UK passport. To do that you will need to use the local Thai birth certificate.

What is important is that you son has a UK passport. That will indisputably prove his UK citizenship and his right of abode and his right to work in the UK.
