I'm horrified by what I'm reading here. You should realise that you are all lucky to be alive.

Yeah, it's a lot more scary than it seems to the lay-person, a warm floor and few tingles could easily have turned into a full blown zap!

We could easily have been reading about the "mystery deaths" of a farang and his family ????

And even if the Safe-T-Cut was functional it would have made no difference!!

This sort of thing is one reason I have a 2-pole isolator on the incoming tails, before any N-E link etc. Probably not legal to the regs, but ...

I had a similar instance of the L N swapped when my local village had a temple gathering and decided to "borrow" from my meter. The village "electrical expert" swapped L and N so that live went from my meter down 1km of 25mm² to my earth rod. The village head man who had organised the event, paid up the additional 4,000 Baht that appeared on my bill and instructed his "electrical expert" to correct the problem a few days later after I had already corrected at my house isolator. Luckily I spotted the correction and quickly rewired at my isolator.

Yours seems to be a later unit which doesn't have "Direct" or "Bypass" ????

So if it doesn't trip on the "Test" button it's likely busted ????

It's possible it has been completely bypassed by an unscrupulous installer, can you post a photo with the lid off??
