Money van robbed of Bt3.5 million

BANGKOK: -- Gunmen Tuesday robbed two SAMCO guards of Bt3.5 million in cash as they transported the money to their security van from Krungsri Ayudhya Bank's Rama 9 branch in Bangkok's Suan Luang district.

At noon, two darkskinned gunmen in their 40s robbed SAMCO employees Rachan Janratsami and Pongsak Khamwong at gunpoint as they were transporting the cash along the branch's side alley. The two security guards were to deliver the money to Krungsri Ayudhya Bank headquarters on Pleonchit Road.

The gunmen demanded the cash bag and forced the two guards to lie face down, before they escaped in a bronze Vigo pickup truck along Srinakarin Road towards Klong Ton area. The pickup truck had the registration number Por Ngor 6815 Bangkok, which was later found to be fake.

Police set up checkpoints at possible escape routes, said Metropolitan Police deputy commander, Major General Kridsada Phankhongcheun. Kridsada said the security van had earlier collected money from seven branches and police believed there were at least three people involved in the robbery.

Just visit the family homes and recover 50% of the money............. :o

Bt3.5 million is peanuts, but I suppose it will feed a few monkeys for a while.

Maybe the AEC can freeze it :o

Imagine how many you can bus down to Bangkok with 3.5 million. Free amulets this time around.

So did this happen before or after they froze Thaksin’s bank accounts? The rally will need some money I guess.. :o

Just visit the family homes and recover 50% of the money............. :o

The polis need to know where they live to do that.

These guys are probably a bit more professional than the security guard who found a sack of money that fell out of a van on his way home from work. He went back to Klong Toey , made donations to the temple and took the neighbourhood out on the p*ss. Old Crutch wrote a piece on it asking forlornly why the poor fool didn't just slink quietly off to Nakhon Nowhere and have a good life.
