I met a friend in Pai, and he reported that his friend who had tried to get an extra 90 days from his 12 month Multi-Entry O, got his 90 days rejected. They gave him the remainder to the expiry date on his Visa. (The old trick of getting an extra 90 days be leaving and re-entering Thailand at the very end of your Multi-O)

This was in Mae Sai.

Any very recent experiences? Any views? I need to do this later this year, so guidance would be lovely! :o

I think he missed something what the friend has told him.The extra 90 days is allready for a looong time. The last time I did the run for the extra 90 days was in February.Got a new one now.Would be very akward they would change this policy.Maybe a more recent runner can confirm this is not the case.Wondering at what time this friend (date)did this the last time.So every date after which went succesfully would make this rumour vanish :o And happily if it would .

Very interesting. This is not just hearsay, but hearsay’s hearsay, and without any supporting details. Forget the whole story. If you can obtain and post copies of the visa and the last entry stamp of your friend’s friend, please do so and we can talk about it.

Agreed. Think about a single entry visa. It may have a year's validity but is used the moment you enter Thailand. You still have 90 days (60 on a tourist visa) so it makes no sense not to get 90 days at any time before the expiry of the visa.

Ya, that wouldn't make any sense. Giving to the end of his visa expiry date could have meant only giving him a few days. Even people with no visas get at least 30 days.
