Elections 23rd Dec?

If the elections happen on 23 Dec I wonder how it will affect Xmas revellers fun. I presume the bars will close on election day, and then there is the possibility of unrest after the results are declared depending on who wins or loses, early closing clampdowns anyone?. Could be interesting times.
