Mr. Sonthaya Khunpluem, the Pattaya Mayor, gave an update today, March 14th, 2022, about the construction and improvement progress of the Tawaen beach office, stating that the building which consists of three stories on an area of 775 square meters is already completed and the remaining work is just the building’s interior details.

He expects that the construction will be finished within the contract period (although did not give an exact date) and that the building will be used as a service and control center for tourists and citizens.

In addition, the Tawaen Beach office will become a primary medical center to accommodate patients before they are transferred to the Koh Larn Medical Center and Pattaya City Hospital. Within the office area, a control room is built to operate 195 CCTV cameras that will safeguard the lives and properties of the tourists and citizens on Koh Larn and be operated around the clock. Lastly, 30 emergency cabinets have been installed in key areas around the island to receive emergency or urgent requests 24 hours a day which will be directed to the officers in the control room.

Presumably the control room will have a central digital indicator showing the number of CCTV cameras out of commission........????

And no doubt soon after commissioning most of the 195 will stop working along with most others around Thailand.
