Phuket, Thailand-  A major tour bus marketer revealed that judging from her observation at Phuket Airport, Russian tourists are significantly decreasing, but the good news is, according to her, that more Indian tourists are coming to Phuket.

Today, March 19th, Ms.Sirinya Nookong, the marketer of Andaman South Coast Travel Company Limited, made a comment to the media that there was a noticeable decrease of Russian tourists coming to Phuket and some Russian flights even stopped coming to Phuket entirely. Tourists from other nations, on the other hand, are in their usual flow such as Israel and Turkey, and according to Ms.Sirinya, we will start to see more Indian tourists in the next month. As for Thai tourists, they usually like to come to Phuket on weekends with a group of friends or families.

The increase in Indian tourists is estimated due to a “bubble” program that basically allows more commercial flights from India to Thailand.

With forced Quarantine, cost conscious Indians would rather travel to Malaysia/Combodia/Vietnam than coming to Thailand....but keep dreaming!!

  • Yes, it's well known that Indians are big spenders.  They will save Pattaya tourism for sure.

Malaysia is basically the same, same, but different as Thailand. You still risk forced quarantine if you test positive.

Better tell the Philippine bands to stop playing Russian songs, and quickly learn Indian songs…

Further more if most people on holiday wanted to go where it was overrun by Indians surely they would holiday in Goa, not Phuket.

Be ready girls, They are here ????

PG Wodehouse grew up in a home where his father got his pension in rupees since his service in India.
The rupee is a very weak currency. It fluctuates a lot. Mostly downwards. It made the Wodehouse family´s daily living subject to constant abrupt changes.

So the family motto was "Keep your eyes on the rupee"
The same motto will now become the entertainment girls.
I think they will remember the dollar days as the happy days.

Russians don't want to be tourist now. They are looking for a country where they can live without Putin.

No worries, it will come soon enough…

Long as you gotta make changes—cool it with the Chinese flicks on TV—bring on Bollywood!

There is a seriouse feel of 'grasping at straws' about this article.

A bit like .."oh! there's 4 turks over there and I think that couple are from Israel .."

This doesn't add up that Russians tourists cannot get back to Russia but this article implies they are still arriving in Thailand.

And, with seriously devalued currency .. come on 'get real' !!!

Indians, Saudis....blah blah blah.

China will move on Taiwan shortly and then all tourism in the Asean region is toast.

Flag my post for future reference.

How can you write an article based on some woman who was at the airport doing a post on social media? Amongst the many things that are dying in Thailand, journalism is one of them.
