Bangkok Streets to Undergo Significant Improvements
I live in the same general area and have for almost the past two decades. And while there always are problems, I must say, the last major round of sidewalk reconstruction in the lower Sukhumvit area has proven to be the best and most durable that I've seen during my time here. Before, they just laid new tiles down onto dirt or sand, which quickly became uneven and unstable once the rains came. But this last time, they actually laid down a concrete base level first before putting down the tiles... Which in the areas I traverse, thus far has meant that they have remained in pretty good and stable condition overall. -

There are no war crimes in the video in the OP, only Jews fighting against a vicious terrorist organization that wants to wipe them out and uses its own people as human shields. There wouldn't have been an Israeli counteroffensive if Hamas hadn't attacked and slaughtered Israeli civilians on Oct. 7. Take a look at these clips. The murder of Shani Louk is particularly heart-breaking. Her naked body was paraded through Gaza and even a young boy spit on her corpse. I don't really care if a building falls on him. Shani.mp4 Some other disturbing scenes: Those videos clearly show what kind of enemy the Israelis are up against. I won't link to the video where a Palestinian tries to behead a Thai farm worker with a hoe. The fact that Hamas operatives and other Palestinians slaughtered 40 helpless Thais and took another 33 hostage is one of the worst parts of the Oct. 7 attack. Even the most pro-Palestinian poster on AN (the ones who SWEAR they aren't antisemitic) will have a hard time jihadplaining away those acts of savagery. The answer to a lasting peace is and always has been for Palestinians and other Arabs to recognize Israel's right to exist as a sovereign state and homeland to the world's Jews. Palestinians could have had their country as far back as 1948, but their hatred of Jews trumps every other consideration. -

In an incident that shocked the local community, a baby boy was found abandoned on Jomtien Beach, Pattaya. The infant, left alone and crying out in hunger, was discovered just in time by concerned residents who quickly intervened. The baby, believed from his looks, to be of mixed heritage, was found wrapped in a blanket and placed near the edge of the beach, seemingly forgotten by those who were supposed to care for him. The incident occurred in the early hours of October 5, when locals passing by heard the distressed cries of the baby. Upon investigation, they found the infant lying alone on the sand, visibly hungry and cold. His body trembled as he cried for milk, but there was no sign of his parents or anyone else nearby who might have been responsible for him. Thankfully, one of the good Samaritans, a local woman who lives near the beach, acted quickly. She picked up the infant and provided some basic care while others alerted the authorities. Soon after, paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the baby to a nearby hospital for a full medical check-up. Initial reports suggest that the baby is doing well and is receiving proper care at the hospital. Authorities have also launched an investigation to track down the parents or guardians responsible for the abandonment. The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace any possible leads, and they are asking for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Those were the days.
Until quite recently, a muddy pitch was quite acceptable. The change - at least as far as the top flight was concerned - was the formation of the EPL. There were quite defined rules on pitches. Suddenly the Head Groundsman was recognised as being more important than the tea-lady. But back in the day; mad was quite acceptable. Champers has (earlier post) pointed to the Baseball ground mud heap. But being a Londoner, and not often able to travel outside the capital, meant that I saw the worst mud on the London pitches. The big three were; QPR, Charlton and The Bridge. QPR overcame it, as did Luton, with plastic turf. That soon died a death however. Sturdy boots and shin pads were essential wear. A couple of Charlton pics. QPR. What's going on at the Bridge? Away from London it must have been just the same. Here, Leicester are trialing their new soil spiker. Man City, Spurs and Black Cats played on one of the worst pitches ever. The ground, in Hong Kong, was famed for over-watering the playing area. They played in a close-season tournament in 2013 Here, Negredo (Man City forward) tries cooling the blood. As the Flanders and Swann song goes. And the Hippos would be quite at home in this European ground. Next post; snow and ice, and all things nice. -

How do you pay?
At the moment I don't have any payment service on my phone....I don't even have banking information, the reason being that it seems to me that all banking fraud is linked to mobile apps. Sop none of that for me. If I have to make a payment in a store, over the phone etc I use AMEX where I can and VISA (baht account) where they don't. -

I have brought my son in on a NZ passport, because his Thai one was expired, I renewed it at BK was done in half a day, but if I had not he would be an overstayer. I doubt this guy if he is half Thai ever got a Thai passport, it should be done as soon as possible after birth. I heard its very difficult is you leave it to long and try when older, thats what I have heard from many of my wifes Thai friends who never got passports for their sons. -

I just cannot get my mind around the British Labour Party that wants to give the sovereignty of England back to the autocrats in Brussels. It must have something to do with inability of the Labour Party to efficiently manage the country. And then you have posters that want to raise taxes on the poor folks in England and redistribute it to the squatters and those who do not want to work. Sounds like communism to me.
