Lost motorcycle Green Book

Featured Replies

What do you do if you've lost your motorcycle registration Green Book?

My wife normally takes car of the yearly registration.  In that past we keep the Green Book in a specific folder for paperwork but I can't find it.  It's probably somewhere in the house, but the wife is part pack-rat she has so much garbage that it's difficult to find important things, like a Green Book.

If we can't find it, how can we apply for a replacement?  Or can you?

@connda  It happened to me some years ago, no problem to fix it as long as your bike is actually in the DLT computer system. First you need to get a police report from the local cop shop, I think that cost me 20 Baht at the time. Then you take it with your passport and whatever else you can imagine they might need, as well as any copies that show you own the bike and identify it, to the DLT office, fill out the appropriate form (all in Thai, so take wifie along with you), and then apply for a replacement. It was all done in around two hours and I walked away with a new green book. I can't remember the fee but it wasn't anything painful.

@Guderian Did you need to take the motorcycle to DMV?
Really, we don't drive it anymore except in the village and even then - very seldom.  I just don't like riding at all anymore.

The bike in is in my wife's name so her Thai documentation should be sufficient. Thank goodness I found a very old picture of the Green Book and it's pages that I used to insure the motorcycle a long time ago.
So just interested if we need to physically drive the bike to DMV of if this is simply going to be a paperwork shuffle.

Well, all is well.  The wife discovered where she filed the book last year.  She just didn't file it where we keep the other vehicle books. So were are good to go.
