Can any one help me understand this visa stuf please. I was in Thailand on the following dates then returned to the UK

1. 13th December – 18th January -37days

2. 2nd February – 10th of march – 38 days

Do I need to get a visa from the UK before I go to Thailand or will I be allowed to get one there? I intend to go for a MONTH!

regards all

if its a holiday under 30 days then no. you will get that automatically at the airport.

i will go for 29 days so thats all cool then? i will be exceeding 90 days wont i? 38 + 37 = 75 + 30 days ???

Pilgrim2505, your next visit should initiate a "new" 6-month period. But if you wish to avoid a delay at the airport while they figure this out, plus possibly having to show onward confirmed travel documentation before boarding or upon arrival in Thailand it may be much less stressful to simply get a tourist visa. :o

--------------------------------------------------------------------

This wording comes from the website of the Thai consulate in Los Angeles:

There are 41-odd countries that qualify for this 30-day visa exempt entry:

Passport holders from the countries below can visit Thailand without a visa for the maximum of 30 days stay per entry with a total peroid of stay not exceeding 90 days within 6 months from the date of first entry into the kingdom. To enter the kingdom using 30-DAY STAY WITHOUT VISA again, this can be done after the first 6 months ( from the first date you enter thailand).

----------------------------------------------------------

In theory this works fine but as you can see, when

immigration has to calculate 90 day counts and then

different 6-months periods you start to have little

hiccups in the process. It's unavoidable.
