AFP / Ted Aljibe MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health said Thursday it has identified 44 close contacts of the country’s first case of the Omicron BA.2.12 subvariant. The case—a Finnish woman—had nine close contacts in Quezon City and five in Benguet, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in an interview with ABS-CBN News Channel. Authorities also identified 30 “near contacts” of the woman while aboard a flight to Manila.
