Thong Lor police accompanied by metropolitan deputy chief Pol Maj-Gen Chokechai Ngamwong were called to a cold meat cuts company in Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok, yesterday lunchtime after reports of three people shot, reported Thai Rath.

 

It happened in three story business premises in Soi 49/6 about 12.30 pm.

 

A French man named later by English print media as Marc L, 66, was found shot in the chest in kitchen on the ground floor.

A Thai woman - named later as Wiranya Meeyai, 43 - was also shot and found in a cold storage room.

 

Injured at the scene was David B, who had been shot in the left side of the ribs. He was taken to Samitivej Hospital nearby and is out of danger.

Thai Rath said that there was a Honda Jazz parked outside the Flying Board Bangkok Co Ltd - a business with 4/5 partners that supplies cold cuts and French food to top hotels. 

 

There are kitchens and cold storage areas at the property as well as offices on the second floor and a sleeping area on the top floor.

 

A 9mm gun was found under a locker. 

 

Employees said that several of them were eating opposite the company when a couple arrived - a French man and a Thai woman.

 

The employees had never seen them before.

They said they had come to see David and were shown inside the company to meet him. The understanding was that they were customers.

 

Two or three minutes later four shots were heard. 

 

A sous chef working out back said they heard an argument in the French language between two men but had no idea what it was about.

 

David was seen holding a gun then throwing it under the locker. 

 

Employees claimed that David did not own a gun.

David's Thai wife Nam Pheung was sleeping on the third floor and said she had no idea what it was all about.

 

Maj-Gen Chokechai similarly offered little concrete evidence though he suggested there had been a struggle for a gun.

 

Investigations continue in a story being widely reported across all media in Thailand.

Agree not enough info and not a detective but: David B shot both of them then shot himself to make it look like in self defence...

does not take a rocket scientist to figure out some business dealings went wrong, not too hard to have with 4-5 partners involved.  What is puzzling is that neither staff or anyone else seen or knows anything, as if 2 gun shots were not loud enough.

Yes sir, we will find out soon it was just a misunderstanding....we can speculate until the cows come home, but my bet is it was a business deal gone sour.

Must be a big business for black market guns in Thailand , seems like everyday somebody is shooting someone somewhere.

people can see them, people showed them in.  speaking French.  I'm sure not wearing masks.  Not COVID masks, masks to hide your identity.  you are here to cause trouble....

 

I've seen to many movies....I expect the home break-in at 2 a.m. or the late alley attack.   A soi chef was working out back.......bro, in the movies there isn't some soi chef chilling outside working while you try your assassination.  French.

That's seems to be a much more comprehensive analysis of what it was all about and what probably went down.

 

Some parts are a bit speculative but overall it sounds entirely plausible.

History.

From another article, "However, stunned workers heard an argument which escalated and was followed by four gunshots. Witnesses then allegedly saw David stumble out of the room holding a gun".

 

Could be self defence, be interesting to see what transpired, the other guy and his wife dead, this guy shot and holding the gun, a real teaser.

It is perfectly possible to speculate!! But being right, not quite so!
