Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Pheu Thai party’s advisory chief for public participation and innovation and youngest daughter of fugitive former prime minister Thaksin, has embarked on her first campaign trail, to support the party’s councillor election candidates in Thon Buri.

She led the party’s candidates touring Taling Chan, Thawee Wattana, Bang Khae and Phasi Charoen districts to woo support for the party’s four candidates.

I guess she's the go-to girl when you need advice on which handbag or shoes to buy?

Why do people want to vote for the Shinawatras? Is it that he was better than most? Possibly but doubtful. Whatever reason, It seems Thaksin is still a thorn in the sides of coup leaders.

Could it possibly be because Thaksin was democratically elected, not once but twice.

His sister Yingluck, was also democratically elected. Yet both were removed by a military coup because they would have been very hard to beat in a democratic election.

IMHO, yes he was a far better PM than any who followed him, military or civilian.

Also because he did far more for the Thai people than any PM before or since,
