I remember 2/3 years ago there was notification of a 5 year visa being available to long term ' visitors'

ie- those of us with 3 or more 1 year extensions. Is the 5 year visa still available ?or has it been expunged since last September and Taksin's departure. Many thanks to you all

The only "5 year visa" I know of was the Thai Elite Card...

There is a 3-year business visa available (only from embassies) but it's intended for frequent business travellers not residents (doesn't permit work).

As John says, the only other thing that remotely fits your description is the Elite Card, an item to be avoided in the current situation.

For Aussies or Kiwis there is also the (much cheaper) APEC card. Valid for 3 years and gives you 90 days on arrival, no limit on number of times that you can come here.
