This publication is "Open Access" the writer pays to post the article.
The experiment identified 33 covid positive cases and administered NRICM101 to twelve of the more severe patients.
They achieved 3 consecutive negative results no adverse events.
Hardly a stasticial significant population.

Ok . But let's look at the biochemistry. This compound has been shown to have mechanisms that inhibits the adhesion ( ionic and hydrogen bonds) of the viruses spike protein to the hosts ACE2 receptor. And safe to say this would result in milder illness or could be used to prevent infection

They used it with patients who didn't improve after 21 days in hospital.

Hardly your typical covid patient.

NRICM101 is used in Taiwan and also exported.  But it's hard to get even in Taiwan.

Sorry, but no, it's not safe to say.

How many vaccinations were developed and went to clinical trials in the last few years? No doubt  they were deemed worth spending millions on developing and trials. In the end they were deemed not effective.

In general, until other specialists have duplicated results a theory is not considered valid. Long term and wide-base clinical trials are performed for a reason. Quackery is rampant, especially in the medical field.

There are countless stories in history of miracle cures that were simply nonsense. Remember cold fusion? Ivermectin, stem cells, water engines, 100 year batteries, avacado pits, etc?

Skepticism is a researcher's best friend.

That research is from 01.2021, so 17 months old. If there were significant results they would conduct further research, phase 2.
By now they should release this herbal formula into public domain. Chinese population would make good use of it now, but also to benefit of the whole world. Anybody knows any ingredients of this formulation?
