webfact Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 Picture: 77kaoded Thai students showed their imagination yesterday at a ceremony to celebrate Teachers' Day at Rayong Technical College in Muang district Rayong, eastern Thailand. Teacher's day is held on a Thursday each year in educational establishments and schools throughout Thailand so that students can show their respects to teachers. Songs are sung and students prostrate themselves in front of their "Khun Khru" in a gesture known as "graap". Picture: 77kaoded Part of the ceremonies are always the presentation of flowers and other items in baskets and on phan's (ceremonial trays). At the college one student had a noisy exhaust in their gold plated basket. Picture: 77kaoded This was to assure their teacher that they had learned their lesson and would NOT be riding a noisy motorbike to class. Another presented flowers on an engine - this denoted their intention to study as hard as the weight of the engine, reported 77kaoded. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-06-17 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m.
