Daily News Thai Caption: Lost it at a bend

Daily News reported that rescue services were on the scene on the Nakhon Ratchasima - Kabinburi road  (Route 304, MK marker 173) after a bus carrying several dozen factory workers failed to negotiate a bend.

It hit the barrier but didn't topple over into the central ditch. The front windshield was smashed. The driver was 45 year old Wirat Wongphan.

Shocked passengers from a factory in the Kabinburi Industrial estate said they were on their way home after overtime and noticed the bus moving sharply from side to side two or three times before the collision.

They felt they were lucky that the bus didn't fall into the ditch.

The accident happened outside the Chao Phor Seua shrine at a bend where the media said there had been many accidents causing injuries and fatalities mostly involving buses and trucks.

Investigations into the cause of the accident continue.

That doesn't look like a very sharp bend to me which makes me suspect that if there were no mechanical or health problems involved, the driver either fell asleep, was speeding, or was playing with his phone.
