Oh, well, there goes another summer of tourism. That 10 million is going to be less than for due to these idiots in command.

Exactly in line with government policy. This regime does not not want dirty, smelly (as stated by the DPM) foreigners in the country. They can't outright say it, but it is clearly the intention to make Thailand for the Thais. It wouldn't surprise at all if the screw is slowly tightened on non-Thai residents if this regime continues in power. It is not unusual in Asia for nations to close their doors to outsiders - China and Japan for example - but that was way in the past. As Thailand has its mind in the past in so many ways, a similar policy might not be out of the question.

Just now, Bangkok Barry said:

The irony is, after warning yet again of nasty foreigners bringing the virus into the country, it is actually spread largely among the gay and transgender community, of which Thailand is a world leader.

Wonder why that should be the case ?

It’s keep the population underfoot and you can steal more and more and not worry about the destruction

How do they expect tourists to visit a country that is in a state of emergency.

Who knows what might happen next.

The last decade, I saw Thailand more often in a state of emergency and/or dysfunctional than the other way round.

Better just update the Thai Coup Manual and include the emergency decree as mandatory issue in case of military coup. In case of non-military coup could be left optional but still at will of coup orchestrator.

No need speculate and wonder about it after that as it is in the manual.
