30 Day Extension for 30 Day Visa Exempt

Recommended Posts

An American friend of mine is coming to Thailand on a 30 day visa exempt.

He wants to know if he can extend it a further 30 days at Chonburi immigration.

Is it possible and if so, what documents are required?

Thank you for any help.

Yes no problem.

He will need a TM7 form with photo.

Standard photocopies of pp.

Identity page.

Latest entry stamp.

Tm6 (both sides)

Perhaps require TM30 (likely)

1900baht.

Apply couple of weeks prior to his expiry of 30 day exempt stamp.

Thanks very much DrJack54 for the quick response. I will mail him with this info.

I have never been asked for both sides of the TM6, I just copy the entry stamp page which has the TM6 stapled to it

In any case, the TM6 is now temporarily pulled from use

Yes thread about that. However means little.

My bet is that the op would have a tm6 and also up to immigration office what they require.

Anything to do with tm6 usually requires both sides on the one A4 page.

As I said, never had to copy both sides of TM6 and never made it on separate page, always with the entry stamp so one copy for both (Copy office at jomtien has always done it that way)

I wouldn't even think to unstaple the TM6 from my passport so copy is always the Passport page they stapled it to.

Don't think what occured in your particular case is all that important.

The following grab I did just now from first result from similar thread......

"4. Photocopies of both sides of the TM.6".

The OP is best to follow the advice I posted.

Since you "don't  think what occurred in my particular case is all that important", how many visa exempt extensions have you done lately?

I've been doing 3 visa exemption extensions per year for 6 years (outside 2020/21) and never needed to copy back of TM6

OP's friend is entering on visa exempt, why would they need "Re-entry permit stamp" or "last extend visa", whatever that is

Much appreciated. Thanks for all replies

Did mine last week.  Be ready for long wait.  Only one desk dealing with these, and they do all the agents first !  I had to wait over two hours.  Also, remember to sign all the copies, as the rather obnoxious girl on the reception desk will send you away and you’ll drop a few places in the queue !  Take a pen - you’ll be charged 10 baht to use theirs !  That was, with the wait in the queue to get in, three hours of my life I won’t get back !  Next time I think I’ll get a 60 O visa !

Could you please expound on your experience? I assume you're talking about Laksi. Which day of the week was it and what time of day? So there was a queue to see the receptionist, who checked your papers, then a queue to see a IO? How long did it take to get your stamped passport back from the IO?
