Hi,

I have been trying to delete my account here at ASEANNOW but can't see anyway of doing it on my account page. Anybody know how?

You can't and with just 30 posts why bother about it?

Simply don't log in anymore????

Try the "other" forum if you want to try annoying people?

That's strange... guess they really want to keep the numbers high... ala twitter n their bots... good for selling adverts I guess.

As to why... so they can't use me to inflate their numbers, and as simple act of reciprocity. Why should I support a company I don't agree with? Been here for years but will move on...

Just don't post.

You might need visa help someday.

This forum is an incredible free resource for many practical matters.

You have to contact administrative support and tell them you want your account deleted. They have to do it from their end.

Not correct. They will not delete the account.

Just log out and forget it if you really want to.

Why should they delete your posts?

It will ruin the continuity of the threads.

I also looked into this sometime ago. As far as I could work out AseanNow does not comply with EU regulations on  data protection (CGRT) and therefore should not even be visible as a forum in the EU unless it allows its forum members to both leave the forum and delete their prior post history record.

Facebook is nearly as bad. When I wanted to leave I searched all over their website to find out how to do it. In the end I found "How to" websites which pointed out the correct links to follow.

Forum support.

Your posts belong to the forum, which is a commercial enterprise. If you get permanently banned, your username is still here..

And at this point as our OP has his answer.

If a forum member wishes to close their account, they can simply PM one of the moderators, and they can handle such a request.
