A forager called Sanam told 77kaoded that he saw a corpse propped up against a Bo Tree on a deserted mountain in Ratchaburi, south central Thailand.

The dead body had a rope around its neck. That was enough for Sanam to flee down the mountain in terror and report his find to a phu yai ban (local official) in Thammasen sub-district who contacted the police and rescue services.

It was a densely forested area and the rescuers split up into three teams to conduct the search. There were many Bo Trees to examine and at one point one team detected the smell of putrefaction but found no body.

They walked for many kilometers.

One team was scared witless when a snake appeared and they ran away in fear.

The rescue was further hampered by the lack of mobile phone coverage.

As dusk fell after a three hour search, and with the teams having no lighting gear, they decided to give up the search for the day.

Consequently the hanging corpse remains on the mountain for at least another day.

Khao Din police were involved in the rescue.

They should have gotten the man that found the body,

to take them back to the site , but I expect he was too scared.

Was that before or after he had his spliff.

Blame it on the Ganja smokers.

Should have said he saw a corpse with a rope round its neck with lottery numbers written on its chest.

Would have been found in a heartbeat.

The 'rescue' services should have walkie talkies they do where I live.
