webfact Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has been trying to regulate pavement vending in an effort to ensure safety, enough pedestrian space and to allow vendors to make a living in an orderly way. Deputy Bangkok Governor Chakkaphan Phewngam, accompanied by the director of the City Law Enforcement Department, Suphakrit Boonkhan and Kosol Sunthornpuek, Bang Sue’s district chief officer, inspected five locations yesterday (Saturday) in a district where 171 registered vendors are being allowed to trade on the pavement legally. Chakkaphan told the media during the inspection that it was discovered that some vendors were not trading at their designated spots, while others erected their stalls too close to zebra crossings, putting pedestrians at risk. Popular Post RichardColeman Posted July 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted July 17, 2022 I imagine fixing the actual paving to allow you not to trip over the slabs with your food after purchase a low priority 3
ChrisY1 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 I'm guessing this is a follow up to no the motor cycles on the footpath rules.....even the cops don't take notice of that rule!

It isn't the stalls putting pedestrians at risk on crossings. It's the drivers who ignore them - both the crossings and the pedestrians. 2

blackshadow Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 pavements are FOR people ....NOT VENDING CARTS.....or motor bikes !!!!
