Pattaya — The bed capacity in Pattaya for Covid-19 emergency patients is at an unconcerning level while 90% of the new patients for Covid-19 in Pattaya have only mild or asymptomatic reactions, a Pattaya deputy mayor said in response to some prominent doctors and organizations concerned of the “threat” of a new Covid-19 surge.

Pattaya deputy mayor Manoch Nongyai revealed today, July 20th, 2022, regarding the current Covid-19 situation in Pattaya that new Covid-19 cases continued to rise every day, but Pattaya City was not worried and always kept a close eye on the 608 group (elderly people over 60-years-old, people with chronic diseases, pregnant women, and those with a weight of over 90 kg) as they were at highest risk of having severe symptoms.

Regarding emergency patients, Manoch said that the bed capacity of Pattaya and Banglamung hospitals was still at an unconcerning level to receive emergency patients even if a new wave of Covid-19 really hit. As for the patients with mild symptoms, they could opt to take medicine and recover at home if they pleased, according to Manoch.
