Bad loser! Shack burned down after termite mound at KM marker fails to come up with lottery numbers

Siam Rath went to investigate in Treum sub-district of Surin in north eastern Thailand after someone burned down a shack at KM marker 8 on a road in the area.

 

The shack had been set up by locals after a termite mound at the marker managed to supply - via divination - the numbers for several lottery wins.

 

Amid some ornamental chickens and plenty of colored water the shack had been set up to facilitate the faithful.

However, the termite mound had been removed earlier now there had been a fire in the middle of the night.

 

The place had failed to deliver the numbers in the latest state lottery draw on Monday and it's believed a disgruntled punter was responsible for the retribution.

 

Kian, 66, did some vital pointing at the scene - presumably where the termites once reigned - and said that she hoped the person who did it will be visited with nothing but misery. 

 

ASEAN NOW notes that many Thais take the lottery very seriously.

I don't normally go for such things but the number 14 had been stuck in my head for about a week.  So I went and bought all the 14's from a local vendor.  18 tickets in total.  I cleared 33,520 baht after the cost of the tickets and the price for cashing them in locally.
