geovalin Posted August 16, 2022 Share Posted August 16, 2022 Unions representing garment workers in Cambodia are seeking a monthly wage hike of between $20 and $50 for their members in talks with the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC) that started yesterday. The meeting at the Ministry of Labour was attended by members of the National Minimum Wage Council comprising GMAC, Cambodian Labour Confederation (CLC Cambodia), Free Trade Union (FTU), as well as factory associations, civil society organisations and NGOs. The National Minimum Wage Council comes under the purview of the Ministry of Labour.
