I returned from the UK a while back with a couple of 50's & 20 pounds paper bills. Aside from going back to the UK, is there an option to have these changed to the new notes?

I know one option, before the 30th of September, is to change into Thai baht and then purchase the new bills, as I doubt there is an option to hand these into the any UK bank in Thailand.

That being said, where would one get the best pounds rate at the moment in Bangkok, ie: Bank, money change?

You will likely have to keep them until you return to the UK.  No sensible money changer is going to want them.

Update.  Supperich will accept them until next week at a reduced rate....

I had quite a few 50's that the banks and exchanges would not exchange

over the years, so spent a few hours with washing up liquid , vinegar ,

getting the writing and marks off ,they looked OK to me , took them

to the local money exchange ,and to my surprise, exchanged them all,

also saying in a couple of weeks they would not except paper Sterling.

So now only have plastic 10 and 20 's in the safe , so don't have to worry

about termites anymore.
