BANGKOK, Aug 29 (TNA) – The government is confidently introducing Thailand's soft power to the international community as CNN Travel has praised the country's  Khai Chiao Pu crab omelet,  Khao Soi curry noodle soup and  Sai Krok Isan (northeastern pork sausage) as being among. the best Asian street foods.

Anucha Burapachaisri, deputy secretary-general to the prime minister and acting government spokesman, said Thailand's street foods continued to impress international consumers as CNN Travel included the three dishes of Thai street foods in its “50 of the best street foods in Asia”.

According to Mr Anucha, CNN Travel preferred the taste of Thailand's crab omelet ( Khai Chiao Pu ) to other egg dishes. The combination of egg and crab made the dish both crispy and fluffy. Its taste would be further enhanced if it was consumed with sweet chilli sauce, CNN Travel said.

Soft power? Really? Reminds me of one of the big billboards near Phuket Airport at the first major set of lights as you turned right towards Phuket Town.

It was an advert for a major seafood restaurant on the island and in massive letters about 6 foot high it proudly stated "The best cr@p in Phuket".????

You mean the street food vendors that were wiped off the streets as "non-essential businesses" during Covid?

The street food trend is not that healthy, often cooked in old palm oil with too much sugar, salt and MSG, amid rats and cockroaches running about in the heat. Some of the meat products look fit only for soi dogs.

Well let's face it the incumbents in charge are really soft, around the belly and elsewhere so it's not really news.
