Naew Na Thai Caption: Cunning python! It hid by a duck coop swallowing one a day

Naew Na reported on what they called was a cunning python who took up residence hiding next to a duck coop helping itself to one feathered friend a day.

But while that may have kept the doctor away, the snake catchers were soon on its case.

Yesterday afternoon guys from Tai Teck Tung in Nakhon Sri Thammarat, southern Thailand were called to Prik sub-district in Thung Yai.

There at a house Chaiyan Khongmai, 49, said that a large python had been slithering in from hollow soil by the coop.

After a bit of digging they found the miscreant coiled up and soon had the 4 meter long 25 kilogram snake in custody.

Chaiyan said that from 20 days ago his flock of ducks had reduced by one or two a day.

He thought a two legged thief was responsible at first until he caught the snake going back to its lair, red mouthed as it were.

Me thinks some Thai story telling going on here, Pythons tend to eat once or twice per month. Not everyday or even twice a day as claimed here.

Perhaps it depends on the size of the python and the size of the ducks?  Perhaps the other pythons in the area were using the same buffet?

What, specifically, was misleading and factually incorrect about that question?  How can a question be misleading and factually incorrect, anyway?

"Yup, and below is such an example"

In actual fact, your comment was the one that was factually incorrect!

I guess his ducks must be very small if he lost a few each day.  Pythons eat when they get hungry. Depending on what they eat they might eat only a few times a year if they eat a big animal like an antelope. But when eat smaller preys like rats or Rabbits they eat about every 7-10 days, Young smaller Pythons eat more often than big grown up once.
