INN reported that comment was rife on Twitter after a post about an over excited taxi driver who had scared a member of the public so much that they filed a police report.

However, the police said there was no crime committed and they would do nothing. So the Tweeter went to the DLT for some action.

The tweet appeared under the name of Latte About A Boy (name transliterated from Thai and possibly incorrect).

The Tweeter said that at 4.40 am on September 1st they had been with the taxi driver who was laughing and closing his eyes and shouting all the time that he wanted a tip.

All while driving.

The final straw came when he laughed and stuck his tongue out.

The poster said after the police failed to accept a report that he was confused with the Thai law.

Others on the platform suggested this was the same driver previously reported on August 19th who was a big guy in a green and yellow cab possibly with the number 1 มค 351 (or something like that).

Then a passenger had had a scary experience.

The latest poster having received no joy from the police has now filed a complaint with the Department of Land Transport via 1584 instead.

Isn't that the norm?

The BIB will do nothing unless you pay them.  Years ago a Brit stole my wallet and stole a hire car.  Both the Thai owner of the car and I went to report the the thefts to the cops.  They even charged us for a copy of the report.  A simple thing they could have done was notify Immigration so when this criminal tried to leave he was caught.  The BIB couldn't even be bothered to pick up the telephone and call Immigration.  A copy of his passport was provided to the cops so they knew exactly who was responsible.

And you wonder why I hate the local cops so much?
