Headlamp beam deflectors

Featured Replies

I am planning a driving trip to Laos later this year. As they drive on the right hand side of the road I would like to get some deflectors to correct the beam on my vehicle. Has anyone seen these for sale anywhere ?

I think you might struggle to find these.

Mostly they are not really 'deflectors' - they are simply stickers that block the portion of light that is directed to the left by the headlight optics.  Make your own by pointing your car at a white wall one evening. Switch on the lights and observe the light pattern. You'll see a portion that kicks up to the left side. Experiment by sticking masking tape or duct tape on the lens to block off this portion of the dipped beam pattern.

Thanks for your reply. Best go find some masking tape.

I wouldn't use masking tape.  Masking tape after being in the rain and sun will be very hard to remove from your composite headlights

My Nissans lights were adjustable up and down and i just lowered them most times I went to Laos. One y=time I tried to get a garage to adjust them - he wasn't keen.

In the end I din't do a lot of night driving at night and no-one flashed at me with my lights focussed down when I did.
