Two army personnel killed, one injured at Thailand’s Army War College

 

Two army personnel were killed and another seriously injured when a gunman, reported to be a non-commissioned officer, opened fire at his colleagues in an office at the Army War College in Bangkok’s Dusit district this morning (Wednesday).

Some flooded areas in Bangkok may be declared disaster zones

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is considering whether to declare some areas in the capital disaster zones, so financial assistance can be provided to flood victims, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said today (Wednesday).

Bhumjaithai party rebuffs Democrats’ call for reclassification of cannabis as a Cat 5 narcotic

The Bhumjaithai party has rejected a call by some Democrat MPs for a review of the Narcotics Act B.E. 2522 (1979 AD), to reclassify cannabis as Category 5 narcotic, after it was removed from Category 5 on June 9th, 2022.

Thai AirAsia downgrades its passenger load projection to 10 million in 2022

Thai AirAsia (TAA), Thailand’s leading low cost carrier, came out to lower its passenger prediction for 2022 from 12.3 million passengers down to 10 million on Wednesday due to disappointing foreign tourist numbers in the first half of the year.

Car goes up in flames in bank's HQ parking lot - was it a lightning strike?

Three Thai suspects arrested in Nong Khai for allegedly shipping large amount of crystal meth to New Zealand

Thailand’s Cannabis-Hemp Bill withdrawn from House agenda

The Bhumjaithai party’s flagship piece of legislation, the draft Cannabis-Hemp Bill, which has already passed its first reading in the House of Representatives, was dealt a major setback when the House voted yesterday (Wednesday), by 198:136 and 12 abstentions, for the review of the Bill to be withdrawn from the House meeting agenda.

Public should not worry about new Omicron subvariants: DMSC

BANGKOK (NNT) - Newer subvariants of COVID-19 continue to emerge as BA.5 remains the predominant strain in Thailand. Health authorities said the general public should not worry about the new subvariants, as they do not seem to be more virulent or transmissible than their predecessors.

Court to announce its interpretation of Gen. Prayut’s tenure length on September 30

BANGKOK (NNT) - The court has scheduled a date for making known its interpretation of Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha’s tenure length as prime minister. The date of September 30 was set after the court deemed it now has enough information from all relevant parties to make the interpretation.
