Amulet thief decides to jump - then claims memory loss

Taling Chan police were called to an area of the new southern bus terminal where there was an amulet show taking place on the third floor.

 

They found a man called Alongkot, 34, on the first floor in agony surrounded by blood. He was in possession of two amulets.

 

Natthapong, 22, said he is an amulet trader and was attending the show.

 

He had just laid out his stall and there was keen interest in his wares including from the suspect who was milling about.

 

He suddenly grabbed two amulets and ran off.

 

Pursued by traders he then jumped from the third floor to the first in order to try and get away, reported Siam Rath. 

 

After being given first aid at the scene Alongkot said:

 

"I can't remember anything.

 

"What did I do?

 

"Where am I?"

 

He was taken away by the police and charged with snatch theft.
