      CNN  —

The Justice Department on Tuesday announced charges against 47 people accused of stealing $250 million from a federal program designed to provide meals for needy children during the pandemic.

According to the department, the scheme is the largest Covid-19-related fraud uncovered by investigators to date. The defendants are facing a range of charges, including conspiracy, wire fraud, money laundering, and paying and receiving illegal kickbacks.

Now this is really something that Americans should freak out about.  Not 50 people sent to Martha's Vineyard for 44 hours. How was there no follow up on these funds that should be so extremely easy to follow up on? These people spend millions of $$ on houses around the world, cars etc. in a very short period of time. Complete scum.

It's quite interesting to see how greedy people can be imaginative! And also how dumb they can be!

It is obvious that they were leaving too many traces. This kind of scheme may remain unnoticed only in countries where one can easily bribe authorities (you see what I mean ????).

Now, which Asian country has the tastiest rice, mates?

AI response: "Yes, brown rice is eaten by people in many parts of the world, including outside of what is traditionally considered the "West." While white rice is often the more common staple in many Asian countries, brown rice is also consumed, sometimes for its perceived health benefits or as part of specific cultural or regional cuisines. Here's a more detailed look: Asia: Brown rice is consumed in various Asian countries, including Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan, though white rice often remains the dominant staple. In some cases, brown rice, along with other colored rices like black and purple, are considered fashionable and healthy. India: In regions like Kerala, red rice (which is partially husked) is consumed, showcasing a preference for whole grain rice. ... In Thailand, from personal experience, there are many colors of rice used and eaten other than white, with purple riceberry being a popular choice, along with red and black rice varieties -- all of those like brown, considered a healthier option to white.

Do I need to transfer valid visa from old passport to new one?

I've been told that you have to carry both passports when you travel. One with the visa in it, and then the new valid passport, until you get the new visa in the new passport.

Thailand’s Losing Its Edge — Is Vietnam the Next Real Deal?

I visited Vietnam 3 times last year (never been before) I loved the place and it knocks the spots off Thailand, everything from the food to the people was fantastic. I found it to be extremely good value for money - a bit like Thailand 20 years ago. Beaches were immaculate (Da Nang). I'd go back there tomorrow, loved the place - and anyone that likes unusual "Southern Vietnamese Coconut Coffee with Ice" is in for a treat.

Report Thailand Cracks Down on Illegal Expat Workers to Protect Local Jobs

nonsense, pretty much every economically successful country has immigration rules and regulations that control the number and type of non-citizens who work in their country, thailand is no different. why refer to lazy thais? again, most economically successful countries have jobs that the local population will not do.
