Disabled people complain over vehicles parking on wheelchair lane in Pattaya

Featured Replies

... and in another thread we are told the deputy mayor wants all kites for sale removed from the beach.

Priorities, priorities.

  • Remove and destroy the offending vehicles, these ignorant wretches will soon get the message.   Inaction, petty fines and other inadequate punishments won't be enough of a deterrent.

  • What an absolute load of dumbasses, then. Zero regard for people with disabilities. Sad to see.

  • Just part of the don’t care attitude. Selfishness, and ignorance.

Maybe this is the answer.

It's painted with white wheelchair signs.

Saw them painting it and thought this will be used as parking.

Only the supremely ignorant and selfish would park there imo of course.

Obligatory filthy stray dog in photo as well.

World class clown show.

Did they actually mark it as a wheelchair lane or just paint it blue?

if you bother to read the FULL story yes it has signs.

If you bothered to read the REPLIES, you'd see the that it's already been answered.

You'd have to be mentally insane as well as disabled to try to use a wheelchair in Pattaya with the pavement on a daily basis due to council and construction incompetence ! I'd force the top brass to get in a wheel chair and go from one side of town to the other, any getting out of the chair - or falling out - resulting in immediate dismissal !

That's just one area, not the whole city, and because ( as in the OP ) a large number of wheelchair users live and work there.

What is that in the very first picture that shows the handicap marking?  Is that a monkey at the top of the photo?

On the other side of Father Ray's,, ie on Sukhumvit, there are no such markings, and I suggest disabled people do not use it as it is dodgy even in a truck! A pedestrian bridge over Sukhumvit was built especially for them to cross over, it had a lift fitted inside. I have often wondered if that even still works.
