Popular Post Dazinoz
A few months ago my Bangkok Bank credit card got damaged so I took to bank and they ordered a new one for me. Was ok for a little while then I tried to use in Big C. The cashier tried the chip several time plus the contact and the magnetic strip but didn't work. I went to the local Bangkok Bank in the shopping centre. Of course they could not do anything so they phoned head office. After a long wait I finally got to talk to one of the customer service agents. Told her the story and she checked the computer and said my card was ok and it was a Big C problem. Since then I have had a few issues and sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. I went to Big C again last week and again did not work. Also that week I went to my dental clinic and did not work. I just went to dental clinic again and once again did not work. As soon as I got home I called the BB credit card centre. After much explanation on my part and checking on his part he came back with the comment that the credit card is ok because the computer says it is. I started getting irate at they point and said I don't care what your computer says the card is not working. He started again about it is ok because computer says so. At that point I said forget it I will change banks and hung up. I have been here over 9 years and things are not improving but getting worse. 1 1

Popular Post eisfeld
BB is the worst bank I have had the "pleasure" of using. In the past decade I can't think of a single thing that actually improved. But there have been quite a few things that got worse. They used to be a decent bank where foreigners could get a bank account without too much hassle. Then they made that more and more difficult. Then they cancelled their Visa debit card offering and tried to make everyone switch to a Union Pay card which of course is not even remotely as widely accepted as Visa. They backpaddeled on that one after backlash and started offering Mastercard. These cards when newly introduced also didn't work half of the time. Their online banking for corporate customers is an exercise in how to make inconvenient systems. The mobile app for my personal account can't be oppened anymore throwing a "data error" but I still get alerts of transactions. I've moved what I could over to Krungsri which while not perfect, I'm fairly happy with.
MrMuddle
I got a twelve month Bank statement from Bangkok Bank, as I thought Immigration needed it, good thing they didn't ask for it, as the Bank got my address wrong! I was told it would take week to rectify it.
Pawpcorn
I'm on my 3rd Mastercard ATM card with them in as many months. First fiasco was the card flat out stopped working. Cost me 100 Baht to replace it. NEXTt fiasco was the card started saying my long term hePIN was incorrect, and the ATM confiscated my card(!). Back at the local branch we verified my PIN was correct(!) so no charge, but no explanation for the f up, either. Today... with the brand new replacement card, wouldn't work at one store (said contact bank) but then later worked at an ATM, then Burger King, then Villa Market just fine. I've gotten to just expect the card to MAYBE work... 50% of the time now, which s*cks. 1

I am not 100% sure but I think they require police report. Don't believe customer must be from police who know nothing and do nothing to believe.

But I can assure you that I (we *) receive or have received stellar service from the Bangkok Bank agencies at Buriram Robinson, downtown Buriram, BigC Buriram and the one near the (former?) Kap Choeng immigration office. * I always have my wife with me. Our level of deposits varies from 4M to 1.5M, so a lot less than their bigger clients. For many years Robinsons had all the major Thai banks up here in Sakon Nakhon until recently! BB closed their store and took away their atms 555 I asked the young lady of the house why they would do that, she replied not enough customers ! So now I have to go into the city were they have two store front locations within 1 km of each other. I asked the branch mgr if they plan on putting a atm machine back in the mall he said no .555! Why not , Its a very busy mall ! I said He just looked puzzled . Did you understand my question! He asked ,What is a mall! I left it at that. All he has to do is damage the card, bend it, cut part of it with scissors, much easier than reporting it lost. Retained by an ATM doesn't require a police report. 1
