DVT Doc?

Anyone happen to know a great doctor for DVT within one hour of Pattaya? A mate of mine is having a nightmare with it, and I suspeect his current doc isnt too great (I could be wrong, just the impression I get)

 

He was diagnosed through a scan - ultra sound, I think.  He has been on an anticoagulant but in almost four months, he only seems to have got worse. Regular, almost contstant pain in one leg, and swollen ankles. At just 49 he is almost bed ridden (almost).

 

Actually his ankles have swollen up like mellons. Both ankles, that is, but apparently his heart checks out fine- although I seen several different docs about my dodgy ticker before one of them took it seriously and diagnosed heart disease 25% and 75% blocakges plus a bad sinus node. It worries me that both ankles are swollen and they simply ran a pointless ECG and said "yah mister heart ok". Maybe a 'better' doc might show more concern with both ankles being swollen, rather than just one.

 

Any leads would be appreciated, thanks!

From my personal experience I would highly recommend Dr. Harit at the Horizon Cancer Clinic at Bumrungrad.  As far as I'm concerned, he saved my life 10 years ago when I was diagnosed with extremely chronic DVT.  Don't wait, they're like ticking time bombs !!!  Wishing you the best of luck !!!

i cannot trecommend anyone withion 1 hour of Pattaya. Indeed in the whoel of Choinburi province there is only one vascular specialist I know of and this is probably who he has been seeing.

 

DVTs are for soem reason uncommon in Thailand and there is limited experience here in managing them. Your friend needs to see a vascular surgeon who has trained and worked in the west. Which means coming to Bangkok.

 

Besides anticoagulants there are surgical options to remove the clot or stent around it, preserving circulation.

 

I suggest seeing one of these western trained vascular specialists
