Thai Rath reported that Thai drug enforcement police and met police conducted a sting in Sukhumvit Soi 11, downtown Bangkok, after they became aware that a man was dealing in cocaine.

It played out around 7 pm yesterday evening in the busy tourist area.

Earlier they had arrested a lady called Catherine, 29, who was in possession of the Class 2 drug.

She said she got it from a black man.

A sting was set up and the suspect Chidoze W.E., 38, arrived in an Altis.

He parked and called Catherine to go and get in the car to receive the drugs contained in several  packages.

But as police advanced the suspect was seen preparing to flee and stuffing something in his mouth.

He was arrested and no drugs were found but an xray at the Police Hospital revealed seven plastic packages in his stomach.

These passed through his system and were found to contain 15.33 grams of cocaine.

The suspect has been detained on a charge of dealing in a Class 2 narcotic (cocaine).

Siam Rath also reported on the case with several pictures of the suspect pointing.

Being Nigerian I would imagine the content of cocaine would be low, likely 90% milk powder! He's not a bad pointer though! ????

Why swallow and try to run, I thought the usual procedure was let them take the drugs and pay the escape jail fee?

I'm NOT going to have any sympathy for a cocaine dealer.

Probably WOULD sell to a 10-year old kid.  Maybe 9, maybe 8, maybe 7 if they had money.   Sell to pregnant women?  Probably wouldn't care.......  so I'm not going to care either.

Nothing to do with classy. It´s just more economic. A coffin is far cheaper than having the loser go through the justice system.

Bang him up for life.  I hope he dies in the Hilton.  These criminals are known to re-offend once they get out.

A lot of "probably"s in there.

Some years ago someone from the Nigerian Embassy said that there were around 1,000 Nigerians in prison in Thailand, mostly on drugs charges.

The dinosaurs are having their morning rant..

Let "them" die. Jail "them" for life..

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"

Cheerleaders for the Thaksin/Duterte social "solutions"

Speaking of "stones" most are lacking these..

Those who have/had skin in the game, i.e. consumers, are the ones with "stones" No different to protestors who actually go into the street. Not watching on television..

Al those who were not deterred by proscription are the ones responsible for the U-turns presently happening in the world.

Cocaine is ridiculously popular world wide. Vast majority of consumers are regular members of society except for their drug of choice.. which is enough to be labelled "criminals".

Drug policy is headed towards regulation, taxation, and rehabilitation for those who wish it... headed away from prosecution.

Caught the low-end "foreign" drug courier. Job well-done, Bangkok drug problem solved! How about the Thai connection ... oops my bad .... no such thing as a Thai drug dealer or crooked Thai enforcement. Let me do my sincerest "sorry" and "wai" for bringing such shame on this forum.

Yes, your "bad", indeed.  There are plenty of reports, on a regular basis, of Thai drug dealers being arrested and imprisoned for the same offences.

This is Thailand, there is no justice and definitely there is no system.

I was under the impression rhe Nana area was well known for Nigerians involved in the drug scene

Why has it taken so long to arrest someone

Now let me guess brown  envelopes ????

Wonder how those officers who patrol the Sukhumvit area and grab for a B1000 fine, those who drop cigarette butts and other garbage item, missed this drug activity. Well known that hotels in the area have many time asked for action on those peddling drugs just outside their premises. Maybe dont want to step on the patch of the other.
