A fire at a shrine in the middle of Ratchadaphisek Road in the Chutuchak area of Bangkok is under investigation.

Several large Bo Trees were damaged in the fire that happened on Saturday night.

The fire was fuelled by large numbers of Thai costumes and plastic zebras that had accumulated in the area well known for accidents.

It is believed that the fire started deliberately and police are checking the CCTV in the area.

There were no injuries and fire services had the blaze under control in 30 minutes.

Bangkok Metropolitan Authority workers from Chautchak district were making repairs, reported Siam Rath

Many people leave items in the area to assuage bad luck.

There are also many accidents due to the nature of the bend in a road where people drive very fast, especially at night.
