A virologist at Chulalongkorn University has warned of a possible surge in Covid-19 when schools return during the cold season that may peak in January. He added that Covid would probably become a seasonal respiratory illness similar to the flu. He warned hospitals to prepare for a sharp increase in patients.

Thailand's Broadcast regulator the NBTC has provided  600 million baht to the Sports Authority of Thailand for the  purchase of rights to broadcast the World Cup soccer games on domestic television. However the final bill is likely to reach more than 1.2 billion baht which the Sports authority is looking to raise before matches start on 21st November.

Critics suggest the NBTC’s funding is unfair and gives the Sports Authority an advantage, and may prevent the NBTC from funding other projects.
