Proposal to extend nightspot closing hours rescheduled to end of November

 

A proposal to extend the legal closing hours for nightlife venues in tourist areas from 2 AM to 4 AM has been rescheduled for consideration by the Cabinet, as more areas have requested the extension, according to Minister of Tourism and Sports Pipat Ratchakitprakarn.

The Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports is struggling to scramble for the remaining one billion baht to purchase the broadcasting rights for the Fifa World Cup that will kick off in Qatar from November 20th to December 18th, or less than a week from today (November 14th).
