US Vice President Kamala Harris met Thailand's 95 year old  Supreme Patriarch at  Wat Ratcha-bophit in Bangkok yesterday, they discussed the promotion of social harmony and achieving sustainable economic development. Rhe Supreme Patriarch is Thailand's pre-eminent religious figurehead and highly respected in the global Buddhist community. 

 

Ms Harris later said  "The US government plans to provide up to $20 million dollars  to the Japan-US-Mekong Power Partnership, to develop  a more sustainable and competitive  connected energy market and infrastructure.


Police will investigate the assault of two journalists from Reuters and The Matter who were injured during clashes between riot police and anti-government protesters during the Apec Summit. Officers say video and posts on social media will be reviewed to determine if riot police used excessive force.


A Move Forward party MP described the riot police actions as brutal government treatment and demanded they be brought to justice and that the prime minister should apologize for the injuries caused.


Navy divers were sent to try and retrieve the body of an 18 year old male who fell from a jet ski into a reservoir on october 24th, an extensive search initially failed to locate the body but it was eventually found using an underwater drone at a depth of around 74 meters. Navy divers are expected to retrieve the body sometime today.
  
Former MP Chuvit Kamon-visit an entertainment business entrepreneur says a Chinese - Thai business man believed to be the owner of a night bar in Chinatown that was busted and is wanted on drugs charges is in hiding inside Thailand,

 

He allegedly flew a private jet from  Don Mueang to near Hua Hin and is being protected,  however the accuracy of K Chuvit's comments have not been verified.

 

Police reminded the public that betting on the world cup is illegal, uniformed and plain clothed police say they will inspect entertainment venues, hotels, game and internet shops on the lookout for gambling.

A governing coalition needs to have control of at least 112 out of 222 seats in the lower house.
