Parking Row Turns Violent as Gunman Shoots Delivery Worker in Pattaya
Picture from responders. A minor parking dispute escalated into gun violence at Laem Bali Hai Pier in Pattays, Chonburi, when a delivery driver was shot in the face. At around 08:30 on 15 February, rescue volunteers from Sawang Boriboon Foundation were alerted to the incident, which took place at the pier’s cargo transport area. Upon arrival, they found a crowd gathered around the injured man, 32-year-old Jet Poolsawat, a private delivery driver. He had been shot in the right cheek and was given first aid before being rushed to hospital. At the scene, police recovered a spent bullet casing and an empty gun holster as evidence. According to Jet, the altercation began while he was unloading sandbags and gravel from his six-wheeled truck. Another driver, working for a well-known construction materials company, attempted to reverse his own six-wheeler into a parking space but was obstructed by traffic. Jet approached him to offer assistance, saying he would move his vehicle to make room. However, the other driver became enraged, leading to a heated argument. Jet noticed the man was armed and attempted to flee, but the gunman fired at him before escaping in his truck without making a delivery. An eyewitness, 41-year-old Worawut, confirmed the sequence of events, adding that he had never seen the two men argue before. He speculated that the gunman may have been agitated about something unrelated before resorting to violence. Police investigator Pol Lt Chanant Kesaonbua from Pattaya City Police Station documented the scene and collected forensic evidence. Officers are now reviewing CCTV footage to track down the suspect and bring him to justice. -- 2025-02-15
