Messenger Lite problem on new Android

Featured Replies

Really hope someone has a solution to this as I have slready tried the usual ones.

I recently upgraded to a Samsung A33 from a J7. Since doing so I find that when someone calls me on Messenger, it rings but no message appears and, in Messenger, it does not show who is callling. So mo wsy to answer the call. And my family members and work colleagues use Messenger a lot.

Notifications are all set on, that is not the reason.

I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing Messenger

Also already tried restarting the phone.

Thanks but that just describes how to set notifications.

I have already done that.

I have also already done you tube and google searches. No help there that  I could find.

Any one else?

I really would like to help. However, it seems like a very tricky problem. As you say you have checked all on the phone and restarted, I would say the first is to check if the settings in messenger have changed out of some reason. After that, I would actually go to the shop for assistance or get support from Samsung.

No, not the settings.  And local shop beyond useless.

As I could nto find solution I switched from Messenger Lite to Messenger app then deleted Messenger Lite. Seems to work better. I can only assume there is some incompatibility between Samsung A33 and Messenger Lite. Odd as I had no problem at all on prior Samsung phones. (J7, A3 - all fine)
