Some random questions

 

Are Thai seed banks on shopee legit? Seems they have so many exotic strains and seeds at 1/20th cost of imports.

 

Possible some seeds imported are old and many won't germinate

 

How do Thai seed banks guarantee female seeds? On Shoppee only Similan seed uses western seed bank marketing. Will the random farms have great exotic seeds as advertised?

Cheap LED 300w grow lamps for one or a few pplant. How long will such a light last? I have led lights five years old.

 

What sort of soil? Pot size aiming for 1.5m pplants

Looking at all these websites the weed often looks the same. Where do they get the THC numbers? I highly doubt shops test. Some advertising 25-30+ THC. Stuff looks top drawer but probably just 16-20% eh?

1. Don't buy seeds from Thai vendors, almost nothing is legit.

Use Attitude seedbank or Discreet seeds, they are the real deal.

 

2. Female seeds are created by forced seeding, one way is to spray colloidal silver on a female plant.

I prefer to use clones of female plants.

 

3. Quantum boars are the only lights worth buying IMHO, about 5kbht for a 240W LED lamp.

 

4. Soil I use is a Peat moss/bag soil/perlite mix.

 

Can't help you with AUTOs, I don't use them 'cos I can't clone them.

Seeds don't keep well in the Thai climate, buy only what you nee to plant immediately, 3 months later they're dead.

Bought a load of these from Thai vendors on Facebook/Shoppee, NONE of them were the real deal. Luckily I also grew from the UK seebanks but it wasted a lot of my time and effort.

Thanks for that. Why can't autos be cloned? That was going to be part of the hobby.

 

What about resellers of western seed banks? Looks legit. Sealed bags. I just wonder about age.

 

How many medium sized plants could live under that light?

Nothing stops them from flowering, and any clones will flower and finish at the same time as the original seed.

 

Pay for a feminised seed, and take as many cuttings as you like.

My 1 feminised tropical Punch seed (5GBP) is almost finished and ready to harvest.

 

3 more now in veg from cuttings  (just put the biggest out to flower).

4 more cuttings now growing roots.

And I can carry on from that original plant as long as I like.

Right, I understand the entire plant is timed to flower at X time so all of it does.

 

So, I want feminized seeds but not auto if I want to clone.

 

What about that 5000b light? That's a lot of weed hahaha. How many plants can that grow? I assume a few. It's LED but do the bulbs need replacing.

A 240w Quantum board can manage 6 in veg or 2 in flower (it lights a 2ft x 4ft footprint).

But the flowering plants you can grow outside (in good weather) but not in direct sunlight.

Thai sunlight will burn western hybrids.

 

I've got 2 lamps, and they're still good after 3 years.

Siam Seeds is legit. Authorized Thailand distributors for Fastbuds, Mephisto Genetics, Hypno Seeds, Kickflip Solfire, Exotic Genetix and others.

All their seeds are in Thailand which means you will definitely get your stuff.

I also use Attitude in the UK but had one parcel seized by Customs and as it was addressed to the Thai gf she had to go and explain to them why she was importing seeds without a license. couple of thousand Baht later she came home with the seeds. All my other orders got through ok. 

 

I'm growing a mix of Fastbuds and Mephisto autos from Siam Seeds now, so far very pleased with the results both aesthetically and in the smoke.

The problem is you probably buy seeds up to a certain maximum price (99 THB/seed? Perhaps :D).

It's absolutely no problem to get all strains legit In Thailand WITH the original package, but yeah the price is around 300 - 3000 THB / seed depending on the breeder like Humboldt Seeds, Exotic Genetix, Barneys Farm, Compound Genetics etc. 

 

But you have the seed tomorrow and you don't have to import it illegal yourself^^

That's not true, they get used to it very quickly.

My friend owns a Greenhouse Farm in Chiang Mai with only western strains (Chemdawg, Lava Freeze and Grand Daddy Purple). 
I also have a lot of "western hybrids" outdoor in my garden at first 2-3 leaves have some marks, then you won't see it again.

Seeds are now legal to import as far as I know.

I have Tropical punch and Bubblegummer.

I prefer to grow from cuttings than seeds.

Yes, I think you can apply for a license now but that doesn't make it legal to just order from a foreign seed bank, even if everything goes through (and most likely it will).

 

Not sure if they also sell clones, they usually quite busy and don't do small things.

For example, I need 12,000 L of soil and asked them yesterday if they could supply that, he said no sorry can't do nid noi ????

 

So guess with clones it would be similar something like 1000 clones min order amount.

But I also have a lot of strains as clones available if you need anything, price depends on strain.
