Elon Musk booed off stage at a Dave Chappelle show

Elon Musk joined Dave Chappelle on stage Sunday in San Francisco, home of Twitter’s headquarters where the world’s richest person recently laid off many of its employees. It went about as well as you’d expect.

The crowd at the Chase Center loudly booed Musk, who had spent much of the weekend wading into the culture wars, making transphobic statements and seemingly echoing QAnon tropes.

Video of the incident at Sunday’s Chappelle show captured by people in attendance shows the controversial Twitter owner taking the stage and yelling Chappelle’s famous Rick James impression: “I’m rich, b***h.”

Not that I care too much for chappelle, but interesting to see that members of an audience that is tolerant of his so called humour, don’t like musk too much.

Not that musk cares that much I’m sure.

Celebrity meltdowns. The first I can think of is Robert Downey Jr in the 1990s, being a show-biz brat in the full glare of the pre-internet media. Then Charlie Sheen, and the whole lineup. But those were entertainers, now we’re getting rich people, competing with each other in their own weird rich-guy way, and are not young. I try to ignore it, but this idiocy sucks up so much attention actual news gets pushed aside.

This guy will keep dancing as long as the spotlight is on him, then on to the next episode of "Hey!  Look What I'm Doing!"  As for that $44 billion, well, once you're as wealthy as that it's all Monopoly money anyway.

Chappellle is hilarious. Maybe my favourite comedian right now.

Musk really had no place on the stage with him. He should stick to promoting freedom of speech, not comedy.

The issue isn't whether Musk should  or shouldn't have appeared on the stage. The issue is censorship which is something Musk eagerly engages in when he's the target.

So much for Elon's free speech, the videos on twitter were deleted, fortunately Youtube has them.

From the uploader

"This video was deleted from Twitter for some reason. It's being shared here in the interest of free speech."

Actually the thread is about Musk getting booed off stage.

Clue is in the title.

Yes of course you are, its ok for you to mention freedom of speech but anyone who mentions the clear censorship carried out by twitter on these vids is off topic. Give me a break

Thought his tweet about Fauci on the weekend was ridiculous irresponsible and childish. Boss from hell. Deserves a good booing. For what it's worth not a big fan of Chappelle. He seems to have a slight bitterness or a take on things I don't relate too but can't please everyone. Comedians I like seem to think he's funny.

At one point, when Musk attempted to speak, Chappelle interrupted, saying, “Don’t say nothing. You hear that sound, Elon? That’s the sound of pending civil unrest.

After more jeers, Chappelle ended his show with a reprimand and a prayer.

Booing is not the best thing you can do,” he said. “I wish everybody in this auditorium the joy of feeling free and may your pursuit of happiness set you free. Amen.”

Next up we'll be told that musk and chappelle are being "silenced".

And that expressing yourself by booing is "not the best thing you can do".

Seriously I can't figure these folks out. But I do love it when they show us who they really are.

More fake news from CNN ...

... Musk no longer richest person, as CNN themselves reported earlier, but hey, why not add more falsehood the their reputation.

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/12/07/business/elon-musk-wealth/index.html

The CNN article you are quoting is clearly stating:

"On Thursday, Musk dropped to the second spot on Forbes’ list of “Real-Time Billionaires,”

"On Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, Musk is solidly in first place"

Where exactly is this fake news you are referring to?

The question on every one lips that reads twitter (and is in that audience) is are the disclosures of past twitter actions a little one sided, one sided in that do they marry with Trumps, ooops sorry, Elon's politics.

Have you ever met a rich person who would not sell their own grandmother if it benefited their own aims.

Musk is not a saviour, just another billionaire, he's only different in that his big mouth meant he had to legally pay 44 billion for a piece of junk he never really wanted.

Likewise. I have literally no idea why he is (falsely) claiming Musk/Twitter is actively censoring the video of the woke Chappelle crowd him. It is all over my Twitter

If I were you I'd be careful about who you are accusing of falsely claiming vids were deleted

A since-deleted series of Twitter videos show Musk floundering alongside Chappelle

Sorry but the claim Twitter is actively censoring videos of Musk getting booed are absolutely ridiculous. Twitter doesn't operate like that any more. It is an honest and fair place now. Surprising so many are angry about that, or are they angry losing control of the narrative?

Except for those its already deleted eh...................

I doubt Musk is on there deleting the tweets himself. Maybe he needs to sack a few more of the employees who don't know what freedom of speech means?

Of course it's going to take time to change the culture of such a company.

Meanwhile, my feed is full of that story so I highly doubt Musk has put a blanket ban on it.

So will the new Twitter transparency let us find out who made the call to remove the booing videos off Twitter?

Of course Musk is too busy, to busy claiming it was technically only 10% of the crowd who booed.............lol

"Technically, it was 90% cheers & 10% boos (except during quiet periods), but, still, that’s a lot of boos, which is a first for me in real life (frequent on Twitter).
It’s almost as if I’ve offended SF’s unhinged leftists … but nahhh."

Although I can't find that on his feed now, perhaps he's deleted it as he does so many of his own tweets?

Precisely that.

‘Brand Musk’ is arguably his best invention, it underpins the overpricing of businesses he controls.

For some months now the criticism and examination of Musk has increased, this inevitably undermines his personal branding and threatens the overpriced value of his businesses.

He’s courting trouble tgat he can’t control.

Musk seemed rather surprised that he was being booed.  It's the same for many of these "darling of the right" characters.  People like MTG, Trump, Kari Lake, etc.  They surround themselves with like-minded people who worship them, giving them this sense of being loved by all.  But when they venture out into the real world, they soon realize that most people hate their guts.
