The UK economy shrank by more than first thought in the three months to September, revised figures show.

The economy contracted by 0.3%, compared with a previous estimate of 0.2%, as business investment performed worse than first thought, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

Growth figures for the first half of 2022 have also been revised down.

More fantasy.

It would be funny we’re it not for people having businesses to run, families to feed.

The UK people should be rioting because of these ridiculous energy bills, the country is a capitalist paradise, at least they would not have soldiers and their guns and tanks trying to stop them.

Rather than rioting, people have take  measures to reduce their energy usage and bills  , like not leaving lights on, turning the heating down a bit and wearing warm clothes and various other energy saving measures

I wouldn’t be so sure about the soldiers, their guns and tanks.

How about their right to strike?

Let’s have your thoughts on the matter.

The UK people should not have to put up with that cr@p, all they are doing is filling capitalists pockets?

There is currently a cost of living crisis in the UK , what with the effects of Covid and  10 %inflation and energy supply problems  caused by Russia invading Ukraine , rioting wouldn't solve those issue and its also winter time now and rioters don't usually riot unless its summer time and its nice and warm outside .

You will have to wait until al least May or June before rioters will take to the streets

Oddly you omit mention of Brexit.

Note to Brexiteers.

You haven’t put a stop

to globalization.

You’ve simply chosen to be its vassal.

I agree up to a point, but if you want to experience a true capitalist paradise look at Thailand, where I believe 5% of the population controls 95% of the wealth and have the wherewithal to keep it that way. Thailand is where the riots are needed, not the UK.

You missed out brexit on that list of causes.

As the poster objects to the mentioning of brexit in threads dealing specifically with the damage brexit has caused, it’s not that surprising really…

The UK and Thailand along with other countries will put all the blame on Russia, and they will be mostly right, just like the pandemic. To cut a long story short, just wait and see how much normal things return too when the Russia thing ends. ie will the energy charges in the UK go back to the same price they were before the Russian invasion started?

I think we all know the answer to that. It is greed amongst the capitalist elite in the UK that is the real problem.

As for the UK people rioting, I think you are right what you said.

A useless government.

Those sunlit uplands are calling.

A good opportunity to invest in energy independence.

Globalization is a fantasy for middle class, white "Liberals" (Liberal in the Woke sense of the word, not the classic sense).

The rest of the world laughs at it. Rightly so.

Really? So only liberals use the products manufactured abroad? That doesn't leave a lot of automobiles for Coservative Britons to choose from. And the array of choices is shrinking. Or maybe you're reporting from an alternative universe?

I think you need to learn a bit more about globalization.

Either that, or stop being disingenuous.

I think that you are a Brit who lives and works in Thailand?

If so, you are the living embodiment of globalisation and imo it's unfair if the rest of the world are laughing at you for living this woke, white, middle class Liberal fantasy of yours.
